Jackie Haber-Goldman started Puzzles Plus in 1989 as a 100% woman-owned, made in the USA, business. She grew up in Bellmore, NY and then headed to the Big Apple (NYC) to study at Barnard Baruch College where she majored in Marketing with graduate studies in Education. She began her career in banking and relocated to Jacksonville, Florida to marry and continue her career. On a London vacation, she visited many museums and noticed all the school groups were interested in specific pieces of art. She knew not every child had the opportunity to visit a museum so she wanted to bring the art to the children in puzzle form.
She left her banking job and realized she could make a difference in the lives of children. She licensed art, such as Starry Night and Sun Flowers by Van Gogh, and other art by famous painters and created 24 piece wooden puzzles. They were beautiful and very expensive. She realized that sturdy cardboard puzzles would be just as beautiful but be less expensive. What a great success! The Company has grown from making wonderful 24 piece puzzles to ones with up to 1000 pieces. She has never lost sight of the importance of customer service and pleasing her clients.
Puzzles enhance social learning and interaction, and improve concentration and dexterity. Jackie loves making a difference in people’s lives. The greatest satisfaction is when her children, now ages 24 and 28, tell her how proud they are of her accomplishments and requests she send puzzles to their offices so they can do teambuilding activities.
Her team designs and manufactures custom puzzles for museums, corporations, childcare catalogs, resorts, national parks, and non-profit organizations.
